Just look at this...

I even took the time to do a little photoshoot of it...

The quality is IMMENSELY HIGH! The pages feel amazing, the end papers inside the hardback cover look so good, the colour reproduction is next level... I am supremely happy.

Postage will begin on these very soon and then you should all start receiving your copies this month, or at the latest; the start of the next.

Now I'm just going to go and stare at it for a bit...

Customs Charges

Hey Roomlanders,

The printer assures me that I should be receiving the hardbacks very soon, potentially tomorrow if all goes to plan! As soon as I get them, I will post an update with some photos so you can see how they're looking and then get started on the postage!

And speaking of the postage, over the course of my fulfilment of this campaign some of the rules have changed regarding customs charges and importing products from the UK, this is particularly true for the EU. The threshold for customs charges dropped to £0 on July 1st for importing packages from the UK to the EU, which means it is likely you will have to pay additional charges no matter what I do. Unfortunately I am not able to tell you how much these additional charges will be as they are different from country to country and also your country's postal service might add on a handling/processing fee which I cannot predict.

On top of that, I am sorry to say there is no way I can cover these additional charges either. Both from a budget or logistical perspective. The method I am using to post the parcels out to you doesn't allow me to pay it, and even if it did, there is no leftover money in the Kickstarter funds to be able to afford it. Sadly Brexit has done a bit of a number on us here.

What I CAN say, is that this is likely to only be a problem for EU backers, and also that the costs shouldn't be too much. From what I hear the fees tend to be a small cost and a small processing fee, but obviously I can't guarantee that.

I am very frustrated about this, the last thing I wanted to do was to make you guys pay more money and I am truly sorry, but I want to be as transparent about this as possible. 

As a result, refunds will of course be available to anyone who has yet to receive their order and don't want to pay any additional fees. Just send me a direct message here on Kickstarter or to my email [email protected] and I will organise that for you.

Going forward, this is likely to become a general issue for EU customers when importing anything from the UK, unless you are importing from a big company that can cover those costs for you.

Thanks again for all your support and sorry for the bad news, I hope you are all still excited to receive your hardbacks, I am super excited for you to receive them!

Sandwich Masters: Bread Roles!

Hey guys,

Slightly different update from me today. Another game I worked on (helped to design and did the art for) is on Kickstarter right now, Sandwich Masters: Bread Roles! Very different to Colostle; this is a daft, multiplayer party game about making disgusting sandwiches and trying to stay one step ahead of the health inspector for your food crimes!

The observant among you might have noticed that I have already done a shout-out about this in the past but we ended up cancelling that campaign in order to come back even stronger with an even better price and a better designed campaign and we’re live now!

I really hope you’ll take a look and consider supporting it. Although it is nothing like Colostle, I’m a big fan of all kinds of tabletop games and lend my artwork to huge variety of projects!

FIRST PATREON CONTENT + Discord for physical players!

Hey Roomlanders!

I'm over the moon to see that a lot of you are starting to receive your physical paperback copies of the book. Your comments have been entirely positive and i'm over the moon that you are all happy with how it looks! It fills my heart to see.

I wanted to quickly post an update to tell those backers who were waiting to play until they had their physical copies, about the Colostle Discord server! We have a thriving community over on Discord, specifically for and about Colostle and its an amazing place to talk to other Roomlanders, discuss the rules, talk about homebrew rules, share your stories and artwork and also ask me questions as the creator!

I will be using it as something of a hub for the fandom of Colostle and although I will keep posting here for big Colostle announcements, its a great place to keep up with the smaller developments of the game as they happen.

In other news, the first piece of additional monthly content for the game came out via Patreon this month! Without spoiling it, this module adds a whole new biome type of Room to the game with unique game mechanics, tougher enemies and a whole new way to add exciting stories to your adventures! If you're just tearing into your physical copies now and new monthly additional content sounds good to you, then I hope you'll consider checking the Patreon out!

Its only £2 a month and this month's content was 11 pages of new content along with brand new illustrations! So its a pretty good deal!

Shipping has begun!

Roomlanders!

All of this weekend just gone was spent packaging and preparing all of the paperback orders for shipping and it was a heck of a job but we got it all done and they are now on their way to you! With some help from some good friends and the loan of some office space we spent about 10 hours sorting, packing and labelling all of the paperback orders:

When we brought all the orders back to my house ready for pickup by Royal Mail, this is how my dining room looked:

But we got it all done. Royal Mail picked up all of these parcels yesterday and they are now on their way to you. UK backers should probably receive your rewards within the next week. International backers will be longer, it depends on where you are but it could be as much as a few weeks before it arrives.

Next up is the hardback orders. I haven't received the hardbacks from the printer yet (should be start of July I get them) and then I will begin the whole process again with them. I will let you know and share pics once I have them!

Ok, back to work on this month's Patreon content! I can tell you now, its gonna be a doozy!
